Blueberry Banana Ginger Smoothie

Of all the berries in all the world, I think blueberry might be my favorite!  Why, you ask?  Well, blueberries are a power fruit packed with antioxidants!  There are a number of different ways that blueberries are beneficial to our health!  The following pin explains some of the health benefits of blueberries, and if you follow the link, you can see even more health benefits of these little morsels!

So we have all these awesome health benefits, and on top of all that, they taste amazing!  I love freezing a big batch of blueberries and just having them as a snack to munch on!  This smoothie recipe has blueberries as it’s main ingredient, but there are also some other powerhouses in there such as chia seeds, ginger, and banana!  At any rate, the smoothie is delicious and with it packed with nutrients like it is, it is the perfect way to start out the day!

BLUEBERRY BANANA GINGER SMOOTHIE

Ingredients

  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 – 1 cup almond milk
  • 1/3 cup plain greek yogurt
  • 1 Tbsp. chia seeds
  • 1 small chunk of ginger (about 1/2 inch cube)
  • pinch of stevia (optional)

Directions

1.) Put all the ingredients in a blender and blend till smooth.

Strawberry Banana Shake (With Two Full Servings of Veggies!)

There is no way you would ever guess that this shake has anything healthy in it, let alone two full servings of veggies!  But, I can assure you, it does!  This is a simple shake, but the nutrition this thing contains is anything but simple!  With the three main ingredients being cauliflower, strawberries, and bananas, this should come as no surprise!  Let’s take a look at some of the health benefits of these three amigos!

So there you have it, this thing is basically a cup full of health and wellness!  Now, you may be thinking that cauliflower is delicious, but in a shake?  Seriously though, you don’t taste it, and because it’s frozen, it actually gives the shake a nice creamy texture!  Just try it!  You won’t be disappointed!

STRAWBERRY BANANA CAULIFLOWER SHAKE

Ingredients

  • 2 cups frozen strawberries
  • 2 cups frozen cauliflower (bagged frozen or steamed then frozen)
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1 1/2 cups almond milk
  • 1/2 – 1 tsp. alcohol-free vanilla
  • stevia, to taste

Directions

Place the banana, cauliflower, vanilla, stevia, and 1 cup of almond milk in a blender.  Blend till smooth.  Add the strawberries and the remaining 1/2 cup almond milk.  Blend till smooth.

Pour into cups to serve.

Orange Creamsicle Smoothie

Um, I can’t believe how good this smoothie is!!!  It’s only got a few ingredients, so it’s better as a snack and not as a meal replacement, but oh what a snack it makes!  This stuff is perfect to sip on while sitting next to the pool, and there’s still a little bit of summer left!  However, of course you don’t need a pool to enjoy this stuff.  Not only that, I would be happy to drink this year round – it’s that good!

Alright, have you ever had an orange creamsicle?  You know, those popsicles that are orange with cream on the inside?  Oh my gosh, they are delicious!  Only problem – they’re not that great for you due to their sugar content and other questionable ingredients!  But guess what?  This smoothie tastes EXACTLY like those delicious pops, but is made from ingredients that are great for you!  Of course, the main ingredient being an orange!

So, we get all these awesome health benefits from the orange alone.  The “creamy” flavor comes from some plain greek yogurt mixed with a bit of almond milk, vanilla, and optional stevia.  I can’t believe how awesome this tastes – I feel like I’m eating something bad, but I’m actually indulging in a nutrient full snack!  Let’s take a look at the recipe!

ORANGE CREAMSICLE SMOOTHIE

Ingredients

  • 1 orange, peeled and seeded
  • 1 cup plain greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup of almond milk
  • 3/4 tsp. alcohol free vanilla
  • stevia, to taste (optional)
  • 7-8 ice cubes

Directions

Throw all the ingredient in a blender, and blend till smooth.

Breakfast Oatmeal Smoothie

This smoothie is like drinking delicious oatmeal!  It’s sooooo yummy, and so great for you!  On top of all that, it is really filling so it will keep you satisfied right through until lunchtime!  Before getting to the recipe, I want to quickly mention that there is delicious cinnamon in this smoothie.  Cinnamon is full of great benefits, as this pin shows!

That’s a whole lotta reasons to enjoy cinnamon!  Of course, the other ingredients in this smoothie are awesome for you as well, but I really wanted to touch on the cinnamon!  Now that we’ve done that, let’s get to the recipe!

OATMEAL BREAKFAST SMOOTHIE

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup gluten free oats
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp. chia seeds
  • 1/2 apple
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 3/4 cup plain greek yogurt
  • 2 Tbsp. almond butter

Directions:

Put all the ingredients in a blender and blend till smooth.  Transfer to a glass and serve.

Blueberry Smoothie With Hidden Veggies

Well, I’ve found a new favorite!  Wow, this smoothie is SO SO YUMMY!!!  The best part?  It’s got veggies in there that are so good for you, but totally tastes like a fruit-only smoothie!  Yum.  That is all.

The main ingredients in this smoothie are blueberries, banana, red cabbage, and carrots.  Know what that means?  It means you are getting slammed with loads of antioxidants when you drink this thing!  On top of that, there are tons of other great health benefits that each of these ingredients provides.  Take a look at the following pins explaining some of these awesome benefits!

Carrot Apple Cake Smoothie

This is an extremely healthy smoothie that tastes like an extremely unhealthy cake in a glass!  No kidding!  I saw the following pin for a recipe for Apple Carrot Cupcakes.

That sounded delicious, but of course, the recipe called for sugar and glutenous flour, etc. So, I decided to make a smoothie inspired by this recipe. The result?  AMAZING!  Gluten free, veggies, fruit, power foods all in a glass of delish!  Believe me when I say you need this smoothie in your life!

CARROT APPLE CAKE SMOOTHIE

Ingredients

  • 1 cup baby carrots
  • 3/4 cups almond milk
  • 1/2 honey crisp apple, cored
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1/4 cup plain greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup gluten free oats
  • 1 Tbsp. chia seeds
  • pinch of cinnamon
  • pinch of stevia, or a bit of honey (optional)
  • small handful of walnuts (optional)

Directions

Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth!

Healthy Chocolate Banana Energy Smoothie

So, I don’t know about you, but if there’s one thing that I really miss when eating healthy, it’s chocolate!  Well, that is fixable with raw cacao! Raw cacao is chocolate before it goes through a ton of processing and a ton of bad ingredients are added to it.  It has a bitter taste, but when used in recipes with a natural sweetener, you can get your chocolate fix without the negative health effects.  As a matter of fact, raw cacao actually has many health benefits!  One of the ones it is best known for is that it is has more antioxidants than any other food – even blueberries!!!  The following pin lists some more of the health benefits this delicious ingredient can provide.

So, as I was sitting around craving a chocolate shake, I decided to whip up a smoothie with some raw cacao in it.  The result is DELICIOUS!  This smoothie is healthy, tastes amazing, and provides tons of healthy benefits and energy.  Let’s get to the recipe!

HEALTHY CHOCOLATE BANANA ENERGY SHAKE

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1/2 – 1 cup plain greek yogurt
  • 2 Tbsp. almond butter
  • 1 1/2 frozen bananas
  • 1-2 Tbsp. raw cacao powder
  • 1 Tbsp. chia seeds
  • pinch of stevia (optional)

Directions:

Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend till smooth.
