I saw the following pin on Pinterest for a Banana Strawberry Smoothie.
It links to a recipe for a banana strawberry smoothie, which made me really crave one! I changed the recipe to use a pinch of stevia as a sweetener instead of honey, and I used plain greek yogurt instead of milk. Lastly, I added spinach, celery, and ginger (as you all know by now, I ALWAYS add veggies when I can)…so I guess, I changed it completely, but it does still contain strawberries and bananas! 🙂
It’s SO yummy, and will make you feel like you are laying by the pool on a beautiful summer day, indulging in a sweet shake-like treat that you should feel guilty about having. When in reality, while you may be near a pool depending on where you are in the world and this does taste sweet, you are actually taking in something that is SO good for you body, that you don’t need to feel the least bit guilty about slurping it down to the last drop!
STRAWBERRY BANANA SPINACH SMOOTHIE
- 1 cup frozen strawberries
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 HUGE handful of spinach
- 1 large stalk of celery
- 1 small chunk of ginger
- 1/2 cup plain greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup water
- 7 ice cubes
- pinch of stevia (optional)
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend till smooth. Transfer to a cup and drink.
